Dear Sibling,
As I mentioned yesterday, your daily life provide opportunities for purification.
Let me stress this.
You have one life time to become pure.
“Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God” – Matthew 5:8
Purify your heart and you will see God.
You have that chance now.
Are you impatient? You have this life to become infinitely patient.
Are you lustful? You have this life to become perfectly chaste.
Are you attached to sins? You have this lift to let go of them.
If you think there are some sins you could never let go of, there are two places left for you: purgatory or hell.
If you love God, purgatory will last as long as it takes to get that sin out of you.
If you don’t love God, hell will last forever.
But you have this life now!
You CAN become a saint in this life. Many thousands of people have achieved this.
You must make the commitment to rid yourself of your sins and scratchy personality defects one bit at a time until death.
Say, “Lord, today, help me get closer to perfection.” If you are making progress, God will not take you prematurely.
The fact that you are making progress is a sign that He is with you now.
Use this life as the means to become perfect. Skip the fires and go straight to Christ.
