Dear Sibling,
As the first Sunday Mass during Lent, we pay special attention to the Cross.
Sometimes, before Mass or at the end, I go to one of the Stations of the Cross and stare in silence.
All of them are painful to bear, but some that really hurt me are the 10th and 11th station:
10th. Jesus is stripped of His garments.
11th. Jesus is nailed to the Cross.
Get to Mass 5 minutes early and look at the 10th station and 11th station.
When Christ was stripped, He was stripped naked, to be humiliated by everyone.
When Christ was nailed to the Cross, His mother watched the whole scene. Her baby had nails driven into His tendons and nerves.
The sorrow in His body and soul cannot be comprehended.
Mass will hopefully become far more meaningful.
