22. Imagining the Cross

Dear Sibling,

Every Tuesday and Friday, we turn to the Cross.

We do so often because we have to recall the suffering that God endured to save us.

Sometimes this message can repeat itself like a broken record.

And we become numb to its calling.

Let that never happen to us.

The Rosary gives us a chance to actually spend some time thinking on each mystery of the Passion.

We spend 10 Hail Mary’s, each taking about 30 seconds, to “see” one mystery.

We get to spend 2 minutes really imagining Christ’s suffering.

Once we do that, we’ll understand why some saints cried during the Mass.

It was really their God, their brother, and their friend Who died for them.

And Who died for you too.

– Ryan
